Why we structured it this way

We have watched good foundations thin out because they were built to depend on the generosity of a given year. When the donations slow, the mission stops. We are building so the work survives the lean seasons.

• Formal 501(c)(3) structure — which is what opens the door to the federal grants these facilities actually require.
• Full IRS Form 990 transparency, and a strict conflict-of-interest policy: no trustee votes on their own compensation.
• Earned-revenue partnership with AMP&MORE LLC, the foundation’s technology contractor — so the mission isn’t hostage to the donation cycle.
• Adaptive reuse of existing buildings rather than ground-up construction wherever the numbers work.
• Volunteer governance, paid operations — the split that keeps both honest.
